Norditropin Simplexx is a polypeptide hormone derived from recombinant DNA. This hormone is produced by a specially modified strain of E. coli bacteria that has had a plasmid added to it containing the gene for human growth hormone. Norditropin Simplexx features the same sequence of 191 amino acids as the naturally occurring pituitary human growth hormone, with a molecular weight of approximately 22,000 Daltons.
The administration of Norditropin Simplexx should be overseen by a physician skilled in diagnosing and treating pediatric patients with short stature related to GHD, Noonan syndrome, Turner syndrome, or SGA, as well as adult patients with either childhood-onset or adult-onset GHD.
The dosage and administration schedule for Norditropin Simplexx must be tailored to the individual growth response of each patient. Monitoring serum insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) levels can be beneficial during dose adjustments.
Norditropin injection is indicated for treating growth failure in both children and adults who do not produce enough natural growth hormone. It is also prescribed for conditions such as chronic kidney failure, Noonan syndrome, Turner syndrome, short stature at birth without subsequent growth, and other causes. Additionally, it can be used to prevent significant weight loss in individuals with AIDS or to address short bowel syndrome. It is a variant of human growth hormone. Common side effects may include headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, muscle pain, or weakness.
Norditropin Simplexx may interact with insulin, oral diabetes medications, steroids, cyclosporine, seizure medications, contraceptive pills, anabolic steroids, or hormone replacement therapies for both men and women. Inform your doctor of all medications you are taking. Norditropin Simplexx should only be used during pregnancy if prescribed. It is unclear whether this drug passes into breast milk; consult your doctor prior to breastfeeding.
